A favourite local’s escape from the constant buzz of the city, Hampstead Heath is an ancient park spread across 790 acres of North London. Unlike the carefully manicured Royal Parks like Hyde Park and Regent’s Park, Hampstead Heath has been allowed to grow relatively wild, making it an oasis of countryside calm right in the heart of London. And it’s not just the woods and ponds that give the Heath its rugged look " the park is filled with all sorts of wildlife as well, including deer, foxes, and rabbits. Grab a picnic basket and park yourself on Parliament Hill for the best view.
