Winter Holidays in Ljubljana

The centre of Ljubljana transforms into a winter wonderland this December, its streets illuminated with white Christmas lights across the city. The biggest attraction this month is the Christmas Market, also known as the Festive Fair. An open space is filled with rustic wooden stalls selling their wares, from handmade gifts to food and drink such as mulled wine, tea, and grilled sausages. You can also find some great deals on fashion, with some of the best young Slovenian designers showing their work at the fair.

On Christmas Eve you can attend a free concert at Mestni trg Square, and listen to performances by top Slovenian musicians.

This concert is only topped by the annual New Year's Eve celebrations, taking place at various town square across the city including: Trg francoske revolucije Square, Pogacarjev trg Square, Mestni trg Square, and Kongresni trg Square. You'll not want to miss the incredible fireworks display at the stroke of midnight!
