La Fontaine

Marvelous food, great setting, service 1st class. Very friendly staff. One of the best nights I've ever had in a restaurant

We were in Krakow second week of march 2016 en had dinner in Restaurant la Fontaine nearby the old market

we were quite disappointed when we saw the quantity of food that was served .We ordered bigos with seafruit and the quantity was minor as well as the quality, seafood was 1 coquille st Jacques and 1 shrimp and small quantity of bigos on a soup platter.

we ordered also Lamb stew, Navarin, there were 3 pieces of lamb in a small cocote and the vegetables were not what was announced in the menu carte and to little.

the quantity served of the navarin and vegetables were quite small although we payed full course dinner prices. For us a bad experience, not what you should expect from a Michelin recommended restaurant.

Freinds of us suffered the same bad experience

My husband and I are regular visitors to Kraków. We came upon this restaurant one evening while out for a leisurely walk and booked for the following evening. The food was excellent, service fantastic and attentive staff who seem interested in what they do. We have been back several times and have brought family and friends along. For the standard of food, presentation of dishes, service and genuine all round great experience this is one well priced eatery and definitely an unsung hero among the eateries of this fine city. I would highly recommend La Fontaine as a 5 star dining experience, but without the 5 star price tag.

One of my favourite restaurants in town. Excellent value, good menu, high quality and well-presented food. Service can be patchy but that's the Polish way.

Great food and wine - but the young girls who are waitress are slow and not what you should expect from a Michelin recomended restaurant.

I ate at La Fontaine last night and experienced a truly memorable meal. Attentive service, good wine cellar and the food was the best I have experienced in Krakow. The gourmet salad starter (scallops, king prawns & foie gras) may sound OTT but it really works & is delicious. The duck fillet with wild mushrooms was perfectly presented and an absolute delight. I'm back in the UK tonight, but I wish I was back at La Fontaine to explore more of the menu. I recommend it, i'd call it superb.

Superb meal I would reccomend this restaraunt. Staff are attentive but not pushy & the food is incredible!

All the good things said by previous reviewers are absolutely true. The venu, the food, and the staff are exceptional. Maybe the very reasonable price reflects the problems of September 2005, so go while you can!

la fontaine est un superbe réstaurant gastronomique , une éxcéllente cuisine ,une décoration très sympa sans oublier le personnelle francophone bravo à son nouveau chef venu tout droit de st tropez sans aucun doute le meillieur restaurant francais de cracovie

I have been to cracow 6 times and I have yet to have found a nicer restaurant, hence, why I have eaten there many a time. As mentioned below, the setting is fantastic, the staff very friendly and the food and service excellant.
