Metropolitan is a really well-run restaurant and bar, with friendly staff who make a welcome change from the sort of downbeat service you sometimes get elsewhere. The food is good, with the breakfasts especially popular, and its central location makes it ideal if you wish to stop by for coffee or lunch. The waiters are cheerful and friendly, and welcome children too - this is the only place we have found in Cracow where they bring coloured pencils and paper to keep the little ones amused while you enjoy your meal. Good on them!

A bit hit and miss. Had breakfast here the other day and the food all looked and tasted a bit tired. Good friendly service as always, but I ordered the English breakfast and got some very dry and old bacon and a tiny sausage. Coffee was good though....

My husband and I had an evening meal in Metropolitan on Saturday. WOW! The food was amazing! The service was outstanding and Caroilina, our waitress, helped to make our night. It was great value for money. I could not beleive the standard of the food in comparison to our bill. I would recommend the risotto. Compliments to the chef! We will be back to try the brekkie it sounds fab.

Whilst staying at the Saski hotel we used the Metropolitan restaurant for breakfast every day. Quality and service was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the scrambled eggs and omelettes cooked to order. We also used the bar area in an evening and the found all the staff extremely friendly and helpful. I would say definitely a place to be recommended.

I was in Poland two weeks ago. One night, the restaurant that we had been planning to go to was packed and so we walked and we found Metropolitan. We went in to the semi-packed restaurant and looked at the menu. Some ordered steaks , while I chose thai noodles . Hands down, the best dish I ate on the trip, maybe ever. I split the chocolate tart with a friend and it was also WONDERFUL! It was rich and delicious. We came back a few days later and I ordered the steak with sea salt. Again, delicious! Everything that they make they make on site. The waiters were very nice and the service was quick. The men on kitchen who work there look almost as yummy as the food, and are very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone! I haven't had anything that has compared to the fabulous food since traveling back home to the Canada.

Congratulations to the red-haired manager ,

THANK YOU,GOOD WORK!

Dined @ Metro just few days ago with my two friends who came to visit Krakow. I've noticed that they slightly changed the menu - I was relieved to see that my favourite dish - salmon in teriyake marinade was still on menu. The difference was that this time it was served with a cauliflower mousse and not wasabi mash. Still top choice for me!

The service was excellent as always, the food absolutely to the usual Metro standard - best. The only downside was that on Sat evening the restaurant was nearly empty so it lacked a bit of atmosphere. I seriously do not understand why it is not fully packed every night considering the quality of food. My friends from Amsterdam were very impressed with their dishes and desserts - chocolate tarte and famous carrot cake. I really hope that Metropolitan will keep on going forever!

We stayed at the Grand for 3 nights and dined in Metropolitan on our last evening(saturday). Without doubt the best meal we had in Krakow and certainly the best value on the "tasting" menu. The food was of the highest standard you will get anywhere. There was nothing to fault here, the service excellent, I would highly recommend eating here.

We have just arrived home in Austria after 3 nights in Krakow. We stayed in the Hotel Saski and took breakfast & dinner in the Metropolitan each day.

We were also on New Year's Eve .

I and my friends were very impressed with the restaurant and the wonderful staff. Both at breakfast and in the evening everyone seemed happy and pleased to serve and speak with us and other guests.

We already spent the New Year's Eve in many countries but in Metropolitan we just felt it oneself really well .

The manager Annnita was extremely helpful and spent some time with us. She is a wonderful and she is always make sure that everything is ok for guests.

We will come to Krakow again. I am definitely there with friends in May and we are having high hopes that we will see you then.

We will certainly recommend this restaurant to all our friends and business associates

WE THANK FOR EVERYTHING FOR THE SPLENDID FOOD AND THE BEAUTIFUL SERVICE

Totally agreeing with the review before. I have just had a breakfast - Eggs Florentine, which was simply beautiful, my husband went for full English breakfast and he wasn't disappointed either. This is my favourite place in Krakow, on a pricey side but totally worth it and the service is always very kind and never grumpy. This place is equally perfect for romantic dinners and Sunday breakfasts ! I am very happy to have this restaurant just round the corner!

The food and service seems to have improved a lot in recent months, and my family and I are eating here more regularly as a result. I just tried the American cheeseburger with chips and salad and have to say it was very good indeed. Their breakfasts are terrific too!.

I am surprised by some of the bad reviews here. I've been to Metropolitan many times and it is my favourite place to eat in Krakow. My top dish is salmon on potato & wasabi mash - simply beautiful. I also recommend chocolate tarte and outstanding carrot cake.

For the past two years we have found this place to be consistent with excellent service and wonderful food. In fact, we've just booked a table in Metro for my Bday this week. Can't wait!

Had a great breakfast here this morning with my family - delicious Eggs Benedict and English Breakfast. Only slight disappointment was a bagel which was a bit stale, but when we complained, they were very happy to offer a new one. When we said no (as we had to leave) they took it off the bill. Service was excellent - friendly and fast - and the quality of the food has definitely improved since we were there last.

Lovely and very sophisticated decor. Went for American pancake breakfast option and was delighted. The waitresses were so nice and super-friendly. I would like to come back for the dinner too. I think that during the evening time this must be one of the most romantic places in Krakow!

I've been living in Krakow for weeks now, and my fiance and I had dinner at this restaurant last night and it was fabulous! I had already read the reviews on here, and expected great, but it was beyond expectation. the service was phenomenal, with English-speaking waiters and a kind demeanor. I had the steak which was not only cooked perfectly but was sauteed in an exquisite sauce. We're going back very soon! Best place I've eaten since I got here.

Good location. Very good food. Excellent service. In the course of a week in Krakow I have had breakfast there 3 times and dinner 4 times. Only sorrow I wasted time trying other places that didn't come close. Staff never stand still but always pleasant and smiling. One of my favourite restaurants anywhere.

we always eat here when we are in krakow. menu is excellent and often updated to keep a good choice. ceasar salad and fillet steak is always a good choice. As with all good restaurants, that cook fresh food, there can sometimes be a short wait for your meal but the selection of fresh warm breads keeps you satisfied in the meantime. A great restaurant of international standard.

Really excellent food - no doubt about it - and some of the best service to be found in the city. As always, the staff make a great effort to make guests welcome (including children who are not simply tolerated but actually well looked after!) The menu is fresh and interesting, with a good range of intelligent dishes prepared to the highest standards. The only one slight criticism is that the food did take a long time to arrive, but it was certainly worth the wait. All in all - a winner!

Surprisingly, for a cultural city, Krakow suffers from a distinct lack of great modernistic cuisine restaurants. However, The Metropolitan is the only one I know of it's kind in Krakow, the modern surroundings provide a great ambiance for casual or official dining, this coupled with it's fusion-style and International menu make this Restaurant a top priority for good nosh and vino. The head Chef, Laurant, is French, all the way from Paris; his ability to cook fine food is second to none. The team in this restaurant are very helpful and friendly, so go and give it a try.
