A good example of Cracow's extraordinary cellar pubs, you'll find here a real taste of what makes Cracow's nightlife so vibrant. The place is particularly popular with students and musicians, and there's a slight Gothic feel to it when the Polish Rock bands descend - but they've thrown in a dancefloor with lasers, satellite TV for the sports fans, darts, pinball, all in a 14th century basement with medieval frescos on the wall. It's an utterly unpretentious mishmash that feels just right. Oh, and the barman speaks English too!

I apologise, but, in my opinion, you are not right. I can defend the position. Write to me in PM, we will talk.

the best place in krakow. benn there everyday for a year, and will allways be there whenever i go to poland. met brothers and sisters there. and its rare to meet a place where the owner knows peter from vader. in a city with so many pubs, its a pity that there r so dew metal pubs around (check popularny or jazz rock) but the lack is worth it. its also rare to see a place where a urinal is stolen though. check the concerts there. great polish bands.

i give 5/5

Fantastic bar! On our latest visit the barman remembered our tipple from the year before! Music great, although not loud enough sometimes.

This is a great pub for rock'n'rollers and metalheads as myself! Really loved it! Cant give it full score because of small details , like the music being to low and stuff. Rather than that: BRILLIANT!

if you're ever at this fantastic place, order a drink called "russian fire" (it's a secret drink of the bartender)... the bartender will love you. and you will have the time of your life :-)

Great rocky jukebox, but the barman told us not to select too many tracks as it would stop working!!

Be careful on the stairs, I slipped went to grab the handrail and ripped open my finger as the handrail was made of cheap aluminium and was square! Then the barman appeared, assumed I was langers and said they were closed. Never been in the place, but a warning, watch your step...

A satisfyingly dark cellar bar with a clientele that includes goth rockers with alabaster pallours, chainsmoking locals popping in for a post-work snifter, the obligatory loud-voiced Aussies and alas, blotchy Brit stag parties in humourlessly homemade matching t-shirts. Thankfully the deadbeat stag elements tend to skulk off early doors in search of lapdance drudgery, leaving a superb drinking hole with extremely friendly staff. It boasts a jukebox with an impressive selection (from Rammstein to Leonard Cohen) a fine choice of hooch and an atmosphere unlike any other bar I've found here. Not to be missed.

Have just returned from a weekend in Krakow with a mate and spent a considerable amount of time (althouigh not much money given how cheap the place is) in the Tower. It is just off the main square so is very central and is a typical cellar bar. The owner even remembered what our round was (2 Zywiec - local beer, with Jagermeister chasers. The death metal etc doesn't take away from the pubs character. Well worth a visit.

This is a great cellar bar. I'm not the biggest heavy metal/rock fan in the world but it doesn't matter. Lovely staff, great women and lots of character. I always go here before setting off for bars with more jazz/chill based music

A great place to spend an evening, if you're lucky enough to find it. The Tower Pub plays exclusively heavy metal music. Even if you're not a big fan, give this place a try! The staff are friendly as are the interesting mix of Polish people who come here to drink. It's the place to be if you want to meet Polish people. We stayed until sunrise one night because we had such a great time! I agree with Richard that the Tatankas are wonderful!

Stunning place. Good music, friendly people, especially the guy who wanted to learn English with a Brummie accent so he could talk like Ozzy!

Beware the Tatankas! Vodka & apple juice & soooo good

a rock n roll bar? watch your heads when you go in, very low ceiling, but great music ranging from deep purple, to system, to joe satriani, very expensive, but very good cocktails, or i say expensive, but works out about uk prices - good place to go after the buddah bar, before going back to the buddah bar again

Excellent bar, good mood! Jukebox offers a huge selection of hard rock and metal. Excellent! Keep on the same way in future.

The music was often good (System Of A Down for example), but they did have a tendency to go for too much Malmsteen twiddly stuff! They also have a jukebox that is louder than the stereo itself, so choose where you sit carefully. The bar staff seemed to be up themselves a little bit, so what could have been great left us feeling disappointed. Give it a go though if you want rock and not jazz. Nice.

unfortunately this was the only place we were ripped off in. Over charged for 2 drinks! This was a shame, and spoilt our experience of the bar thought luckily it didn't spoli the day.

This place is crazy! It's like stepping into a goth hangout, except instead of painting their faces, the kids play darts and dance. You get the distinct feeling that this place doesn't care if you like it or not. Definitely NOT a tourist trap. I'm coming back fo sho.
