Editor's review

With its strange half-human forms emerging from the walls, rough-welded bar stools and Mexican flags and paraphernalia, this pub could only be in Kazimierz! In true bohemian style, its a splendid mish-mash of food (excellent pancakes hand-cooked by the owner/chef), drink (one of the better ranges of wine locally), and partying (there are Mexican-themed parties every week). Asked about opening hours, the proprietor replied that its open from 10 am until it makes sense to close. Splendidly relaxed, uncontrived, and with a good dose of humour.

Still being drawn back to this delightful spot. Rustic charm has not been lost despite the large screen TV installed or the ocassional wild party nights e.g. Mexican theme!!!

Been to Krakow 4 times in last year and always stay in The Hotel Astoria just round the corner from this great little pub, like others friendly atmosphere, not many poser like you find in say Alchemia across the road. and if you are feeling hungry just nip out the door and grab a Zapiekanka then back in for a nice cold Żywiec duży of course. Just a fantastic area of the city very bohemian, you will never be bored thats for sure

Try the grzaniec galicyjski here on a cold winter day - delicious. Staff incredibly welcoming to returning faces.

It seems as if respected mr. H.R.Giger himself embroiled fingers in creating such atmosphere in a frightening yet comfortable environment. The walls say " "Industrial , old , dark".. The bar says : "Life , silence , leave me alone ".. German cold beer and Irish Murphy's draft , served on a room temperature just like it should be.. Wish I could be there , once more ..

Been to Krakow 9 times so far and this is definitely an unpretentious bar. Locals are great and friendly. The only downside at times are the UK tourists letting everyone down. The coffee is fantasticly warming on a cold day.

Ouch. Too much of a good thing here! Loved it, but lost a day afterwards! Psychedelic place, lots of fun..

Actually, this is one of the best places in Kazimierz and a bit different from the others. It seem somehow more relaxed than some of the other bars - no posers here!

not the most famous place on Plac Nowy but Mechanoff offers a decent bar, pretty good service most days, a few seats in teh sun on a summer's day... well worth popping into if your favourite place is getting too touristy
