10th Museums' Night Coming This Weekend

Opening their doors for free this weekend are 27 different Krakow museum institutions. Counting their branches, it makes almost 50 places to see in only one night, so see below for the programme to go for a wise museum spree. The theme of this year's jubilee editon is "CO-lection. Share your passion". 

The official opening will take place at 18:00 in the newly to-be opened branch of the National Museum, the Czapski Palace at 10-12 Piłsudskiego St. The event has been deliberately planned on Friday/Saturday night, so the tourist visiting Krakow will have the opportunity to participate both in Krakow's and other cities' Museums' Night. The sightseeing in the majority of museums will start at 19:00. To enter a museum you need a free museum ticket, available at spot.

The list of participating museums include: The Historical Museum of Krakow, The Archaeological Museum, The National Museum, The Etnographic Museum, The Japanese Museum „Manggha”, The Jagiellonian University Museum, The Museum of Municipal Engineering and many more. Apart from guided sightseeing, the museums are prepairing a handful of special attractions, such as quests, concerts, workshops, films, and many other.

This year's debutants are the Museum of Young Poland "Rydlowka", welcoming for folk handicraft and dance workshops, and the Museum of Life Rescue in teh headquarters of Krakow's firefighting department.

Access to all participating museums is free, however in some an earlier reservation is required. Check the programme here for details (in Polish).
