Special diet
We are vsiting July 16th for 5 days for my 50th birthday. My husband has a food allergy & can't eat food with flour so no bread,cakes,pizza, pasta etc.He can eat any meat or fish. Can anyone suggest where to eat? This allergy means he can't drink beer so are there bars we can get cider?

I am pretty sure you can get cider in NIC NOWEGO bar in Krakow - it's a great place to eat as well, and if you specially ask for a meal with no wheat, this is the sort of place that might be able to prepare it properly for you. They have great salads at the very least....!

For meat central, try 'Ogniem i Mieczem' in Podgórze, just over the bridge from Kazimierz Jewish district (5 mintutes ride from centre). I think it's the best Polish food in town and has HEAPS of meat dishes. Try the crisp skin golonka or half meter (yep!) ribs. If you can eat wheat then try the pierogi (dumplings).
