UNSOUND WORKSHOP: WRITING ABOUT MUSIC, WITH WILL LYNCH

Journalism is an important part of any music scene, and these days it's easier than ever to get involved. You don't need formal training or loads of contacts; the skills can be self-taught, the editors and artists easily reached. But that's not to say it's simple. To be a journalist, you need to be resourceful, patient and tenacious, and an expert in at least two subjects: music, and the craft of writing. It's not the dream job many people think it is, but with the right approach and the right work ethic, it can be incredibly rewarding. In this workshop, RA associate editor Will Lynch will share his insights and experiences as a music journalist, and offer perspective on how to get started, hone your skills and get published.
