Recipe For Krakow By J.Dobrzycki

Jerzy Dobrzcki, a 1930's art historian and former director of the Historical Museum in Krakow came up with a simple, yet brilliant recipe for his city: Krakow was to be unmatched in terms of culture and art. One of Dobrzycki's initiatives was the nativity scene contest, held in Krakow to the day, and also Krakow Days.

The latest exhibition in the Hipolit Townhouse is a time travel to 1930's festive Krakow, and the beginninigs of the HMK, featuring the first ever second prize nativity scene from 1936.

The attraction of the first Krakow Days in 1936 was balloon post, and the HMK, in cooperation with Polish Post decided to revive the tradition by organizing HMK's Balloon Post. This will be a unique opportunity to mail a greeting card in an unusual way. The balloon will be launched on September 4th at ca.18:00.
