My Presence

The works on display have been produced at the UMCS Institute of Fine Arts in Lublin under supervision of Professor Jan Gryka. The majority of the artists are in their third year. The common theme of all the works is self-portrait. The works, with their intimate character, have given some artists an opportunity for psychological self-reflection; for others, they address the search for one’s own place in society. They are also a way of playing with one’s own image. Their essence lies in demonstrating how young artists interpret themselves and the world around them. The object is the shared medium. The students have made use of such materials as plaster, modelling clay, fabrics and ready-made objects.
