Spain Victorious at Euro Final in Kiev

Kiev has hosted the final match in the UEFA Euro 2012 championship, which was hosted jointly by Poland and Ukraine. The match saw Spain emerge victorious, with a stunning 4-0 win over Italy. Goals were scored by Spanish players Silva, Alba, Torres, and Mata at the closing match in the Olympic Stadium. This has marked Spain's third victory in a row at major international championships - they have now won the last two Euro championships as well as the previous World Cup which took place in South Africa.

Kiev also hosted group stage matches between Sweden, England, France, and Ukraine. A quarter-final between England and Italy took place here as well.

The next European Championship will take place in France in 2016.
