Do not rent the apartment in Kiev with "Olga Apartments". We were so unlucky to rent a 1-room apartment with them at Grinchenka Borysa 2 that is in the center of Kiev. The apartment was extremely dirty (including bed linen and towels), and had a terrible smell of smoke, even in the bed. There were either ice-cold or boiling hot water in the shower cabinet, that also was very dirty. We arrived late at night and could not wait until next morning to move out of that terrible place. Since we paid in advance for 2 days, we asked manager Olga about a refund for 1 day, but were denied it.
We was extremely disappointed when we rented an apartment with Radisson Blu Kiev. They did not give us the one with had chosen and prepaid, instead we were given a terrible apartment at MIKHAILPVSKIY LANE 7 (it was dirty and smell very bad, poorly furnished and fool of mosquitos), and because it was late night we didnt have any other alternative just wait until 6 a.m. to move out and try to find some Hotel.

Pricey but a great hotel.
Very, very good, but very very expensive. You have been warned! Staff don't smile much until you show them the readies - I kid you not!

This place is gorgeous! The pool and spa are awesome, only problem is I didn't want to leave the hotel!

I was a bit anxious to fly in to Kiev. Good thing I booked at Hotel Ukraina. They made it so comfortable to spend some time there. Do visit.

this review is spot on. a bit of a sh!tty hostel if the truth be known and a far cry from a modern hostel full of perks and freebies and friendly travellers. Still the staff gave us extra heaters and blankets when we were freezing in feb, and more importantly they helped us when our mate went AWOL after an incident in club 112 (don't go there - wasn't just us, receptionist told us it has happened before). Anyway, I don't want to put anyone going off Kiev/Kyiv - it is a wonderful place, wonderful people (for the most part!) and there's plenty to see and do. Did i mention the women are fiiiiiiiiiiittttttttt! Looking forward to returning during summertime and hitting the city beaches...
