Tricity Elects First Openly Gay MP

Gdynia, a Tri-City neighbor of Gdansk, has voted in Poland's first openly gay MP as part of the latest parliamentary elections which took place in October of this year. This landmark move will see Robert Biedron, Polish LGBT activist and politician, enter parliament through Poland's proportional representation system as one of the leading candidates for the newly formed liberal Palikot Movement party.

Another milestone as part of the Palikot Movement's newly found popularity is the election of Poland's first transsexual MP, Anna Grodzka.

Once known as a rather conservative place, Poland is finally showing that is becoming and open and tolerant country.
