A Bumpy Crossing

Poland doesn't have the best reputation in the world when it comes to sensible driving, and last weekend's escapades revealed that navigating under the influence may well be on the cards for seamen too.

A pleasure boat sailing along the coastline of popular seaside resort Kolobrzeg ran aground last weekend after its merry crew indulged in a little too much merrymaking.

The nineteen passengers had to be airlifted to safety, and the crew themselves were breathalised by local policeman. Tests confirmed that the captain was drunk, and it is likely that his ship 'Monika' will be taking some time out, along with its skipper.
