Shakespeare Festival

Gdansk has a strong tradition of theatre, with a particular passion for the works of that great English bard Shakespeare. The Shakespeare Festival is undoubtedly one of the city’s cultural highlights, inviting theatre companies from across the world to stage their interpretations of Shakespeare’s plays. Along with repeats of last year's successful premieres (such as The Tempest, Macbeth, and Richard III), there will be new interpretations by companies from Poland, Germany, the UK, Romania, Macedonia, Russia, and Italy.
