TUE successful at European Championships Robot Football

The Eindhoven University of Technology team Tech United yesterday won the title of European Champion yesterday at the RocoCup German Open 2010 in Magdeburg, Germany.

The final was against Portuguese team Cambada of the University of Aveiro and the Eindhoven equipe beat them 5-1. In this duel each team had five robots on the pitch and no human intervention was allowed. With their cameras and intelligent software the robots define their own strategy during the game.

The Tech United team will now start preparing for the next challenge, which is the World Cup. This tournament takes place in Singapore from 19th to 25th of June, where the robots will go after the ball again and will score as much goals as they can.
