Eindhoven had already been in the top 7 for the last three years and has now been recognized for its development.

The Intelligent Community Forum is an organisation founded to study economic and social development of the current society, and it contributes to the development of cities, regions and communities worldwide by challenging them to create prosperity, stability and cultural meaning in a world where jobs, investment and progress increasingly depend on broadband communications and access technologies.

The special theme of the 2011 ICF summit was healthcare, an area in which the Eindhoven region is particularly active. Our region has nearly 825 businesses active in this sector, which employ 17,000 people and there's also the project called Brainport Health Innovation (BHI).
