Eindhoven Greenest City in the Netherlands?

The city of Eindhoven is nominated for this year's title "Greenest city in the Netherlands". The jury of this competition has visited the city last week with a group of 10 people. The group got a 4 hour tour through the city and passed all its greenest locations; the Genneper Parken, Stadswandelpark, the Karpendonk lake and other beautiful spots.

Now the waiting has started, because the winner won't be announced until November 10th. Competitors are the cities Nijmegen, Heerhugowaard, Ede and Deventer.

The competition is organised yearly by Entente Florale, which is a foundation set up with the goal to promote the economic and social importance of a green landscape. The winner of the competition takes part in the European Entente Florale next year.

Visit our Green Eindhoven page for more information about green spaces in the city.
