Muziek in de Cathrien

MUZIEK IN DE CATHRIEN. Magnificanto. Saturday, May 2nd at 3 pm in the Town Church St.Cathrien.

Eindhoven visitors will be able to hear the Helmonds Vocal Ensemble, conducted by Jeroen Felix. The program, entitled Magnificanto, among other things includes the ancient hymn of St.Mary's Magnificat of the American composer Richard Toensing (1940-2014) and the Magnificat by Arvo Pärt. Arvo Pärt was born in Estonia in 1935, emigrated to the West in 1980 and devoted himself to composing religious music, often commissioned by choirs and cathedrals. The Magnificat was created in 1989. At 2,25 pm Rosemarie Seuntiëns, the city carillonneur of Eindhoven plays the carillon of the Cathrien. Through an ingenious audio system the music can be heared in the church.
