KamerMuziek in de Cathrien

KamerMuziek in de Cathrien. On Saturday, March 14th at 3 pm in the Town Church St.Cathrien, Eindhoven, "KamerMuziek in de Cathrien” presents the talented young soprano Rianne Wilbers. Visitors are able to hear works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Jan Pieterszn, Sweelinck and Hendrik Andriessen, a.o. his song-cycle "Miroir de Peine".

The Dutch composer Hendrik Andriessen (1892-1981) wrote his song-cycle Miroir de Peine in 1923 as a setting of texts by the French poet Henri Ghéon, sung here by soprano Rianne Wilbers. The sonnets deal with the suffering of Christ, but viewed from the perspective of his mother Mary as a new "Stabat mater dolorosa". Rianne Wilbers is accompanied by Ruud Huijbregts on organ and harpsichord. Rianne graduated in 2013 her Bachelor of Music at the Brabants Conservatory in Tilburg. Currently she is doing her Master degree under the guidance of the successful mezzo-soprano Xenia Meijer and baritone Maarten Koningsberger.
