Muziek in de Cathrien

At Saturday, November 1st, at 3 pm in the Town Church St.Cathrien, Eindhoven-Center, the visitors will be able to hear a performance by the Helmonds Vocal Ensemble with Missa Pro defunctis - Chr. de Morales (1500-1553) and In Memoriam of Anne Frank - Howard Goodall (1958). In contribution to the program: Jan van de Laar (organ), occasional string ensemble and the Schola Iuventatis of the Cathedral Basilica of St. John, 's-Hertogenbosch Jeroen Felix, musical supervision.

The different parts are interspersed with declamations from the diary of Anne Frank by Anne van Brunschot, reading-aloud National Champion 2009 'In Memoriam Anne Frank was written to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Anne Frank's death in a Nazi concentration camp. This moving choral tribute is elegiac in mood but, like Anne's inspirational diary, also exudes warmth and gentleness. Howard Goodall is a famous British composer. He has more than earned his spurs in the field of contemporary choral music, as well as a film composer (TV series 'Blackadder' and 'Johnny English').
